WHAT IS GATE 31 IN HUMAN DESIGN?

Gate 31 in Human Design is called the gate of ‘influence’ which is the natural expression of leadership and the potential to lead the collective toward a common goal.

Sitting in the Throat center, Gate 31 is connected to the G Center via Gate 7 of the Role of Self and together they form the channel of Alpha (7 - 31).

It is a powerful channel that has the energy for not only leading others through influence or voice but also to back it up through participation (strong role of self) based on fairness and vision of a better future for all.

Gate 31, unlike hidden influence of gate 44, is all about openly yet naturally influencing others (like Sun radiates naturally) and leading all toward a common goal. But the caveat here is that this energy is only influential when allowed or invited by people publicly (democracy) as it is a projected energy.

Gate 31 people do not work like bosses, instead they work in collaborative and more harmonious setting where hierarchy becomes irrelevant and a more modern approach of leading graciously is prevelant.

They have this superpower of ‘supporting and steering collective attention’ toward new patterns to test and achieving future-oriented goals. But this is not a personal ego-driven agenda rather an ambition for improvement rooted in service mindset.

As I write this post, Gate 31 is stationed in the Solar (sun) transit which happens around the 4th week of July each year.

From a marketing perspective, it’s a good time to tap into the power of influencer marketing and using empowering language to create a movement around a big vision.

Its also a great time to highlight your people, team or community, their collective and individual brilliance in order to empower them to shine their innate radiance.

GENE KEY 31 SHADOW AND GIFT

THE SHADOW OF gene key 31 is arrogance

Which is rooted in the belief that we have any independent control over reality at all. Real arrogance comes from being cut off from our divine source. Words that are not rooted in a profound sense of humble wonder are always at some level arrogant.

Arrogance can manifet as false humility, only caring about what others think of you and having this fear being thought of as arrogant.

Or it can manifest as being scornful which is rooted in anger and a deeply seated need for recognition, but no amount of recognition will ever feel fulfilled when it comes from those you take to be inferior.

The way out is to not get caught up in what others think, stepping beyond intellect and into the heart where false constructs of mind fall away.

THE GIFT OF gene key 31 IS Leadership (Siddhi: humility)

Which is essentially a gift of influence because inside of you there is no desire to be a leader and even less of an identification of being a leader.

You recognize the collective need to be influenced and led because you understand the trends and patterns. And in this humble radiance, collective is bound to elect you as their leader.

To be truly humble, you wouldn't mind others thinking you are arrogant because you are only exercising your gifts in empowering others to find theirs.

From a marketing perspective, I call gate 31 “Empowered Direction”, the brand that has the potential to be positioned as a leader in the field.

This energy is of a gifted leader who empowers others on the journey towards the highest potential.

As a gate 31 brand you are at your most magnetic and influential when your driving purpose is to empower others.

MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE:

This is a special one for me as I have gate 31 in my design Earth which is also known as your Purpose in Gene keys.

And in the true gate 31 sense, I have never identified with the ambition to become a leader whatsoever, but have always been invited into key leadership and authority positions given my experience, field knowledge and team-player role.

I have led teams as big as 300+ members during my corporate career although starting at humble positions. And now in my business, I get to lead and empower uniquely brilliant women into their authenticity.

In retrospect, I recognize how this has played out for me despite having an open throat and having 31 on my design side. The invitation has always been very prominent for me to be in positions of power and authority to lead and that’s truly humbling.

Yes, the service attitude rings more true for me and been a concious choice over the desire to lead which brings me to the values of 31st brand archetype:

  • collaboration (aka empowering others)

  • transparency &

  • service

DEFINING YOUR BRAND STORY

Your brand story demonstrates the genesis of your wisdom, the depths of experience and knowledge to position you as a leader in your field.

A story of not stepping aside and assuming the leadership role whenand wherever needed with service as your motto.

Your brand story also must show that your driving purpose is to empower others. That’s your brand magnetism.

Make your brand storyline about showing new ‘possibilities’ for future through your empowering voice and inspire others into action + growth.
